Graphene

“Graphene, a next-generation architecture developed by Phore, is designed to handle hundreds of thousands of transactions per second, support high-performance execution of Turing-complete smart contracts for complex dApps, and facilitate the creation of customizable shards optimized for different use cases, with interoperability between shards.

The Graphene architecture expands staking, masternodes, and governance, allowing more extensive community participation through lower-collateral Graphene Masternodes, which also handle staking functions. Graphene Masternode owners can operate nodes while securely storing GFN in offline hardware wallets.

Graphene employs the CASPER algorithm to enhance security through rapid block finalization, address issues with previous PoS algorithms like the nothing-at-stake problem, and boost performance with BLS aggregation signatures, reducing block processing and validation times. Graphene is being developed in Go, attracting interest from projects, including one of the Ethereum 2.0 teams. The Phore team is dedicated to a decentralized, open-source development model and values partnerships that strengthen the industry.

One of Graphene’s unique features is the ability to create customized blockchain shards optimized for specific use cases. Each shard can offer different capabilities, approved through decentralized governance, reducing the need for frequent user upgrades.
