Afro (AFRO)

Afro Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Geneva, Switzerland. As a Foundation, Afro operates to contribute to the economic and societal development of Africa. Swiss Law does not allow the Foundation to make any profit and mandates that it serves the specific purposes for which it was created.

Under the umbrella of the Afro Foundation, various initiatives are undertaken to ensure the responsible improvement of daily well-being in Africa. These initiatives include distributing water purification mechanisms, establishing traceability methods to combat counterfeit medication, promoting education in techniques and trades to transform the continent’s natural wealth, offering training in science and information technology, endorsing African Arts and local industry growth, and advocating for the preservation of primary forests and flora through afforestation and reforestation efforts.

Governance of Afro Foundation follows a pan-African approach. Spokespersons of the foundation will resign by December 2022, and from that point onward, a council composed of representatives from 54 African countries will oversee the governance of the Foundation. Afro Foundation invites individuals to be part of its journey towards Pan-African integration and optimizing the Human Development Index across the continent.
