Pulse Token (PULSE)

Pulse Token (PULSE) is a cryptocurrency that operates as a way to access information in the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) from DNS. It is part of the EthDNS ecosystem, which includes EthLink. EthLink is specifically designed for .eth domains that are normally inaccessible from DNS. By appending .link to the domain, EthLink allows users to obtain the relevant information from ENS. For example, a DNS A record request for mydomain.eth.link would look up the A records in ENS for mydomain.eth. EthDNS operates as a DNS-over-HTTPS server and can resolve both regular DNS and ENS-registered domains.

DNS information held in ENS can be accessed in the same way as traditional DNS. EthDNS resolves DNS queries through its endpoint at https://eth.link/dns-query. Users can also set up a DNS proxy to access EthDNS through standard DNS queries. ENS includes a content hash field containing a pointer to content hosted on the internet, often on IPFS. EthDNS can serve domains with contenthash records by returning IPFS gateways when queried for A records and providing the contenthash as both its field and a DNSLink reference in response to TXT record queries.

EthLink is specifically designed for .eth domains, but other domains registered in ENS can be accessed directly when enabled. Enabling ENS-based resolution is as simple as using EthLink. Users should CNAME their domains to resolver.cloudflare-eth.com; a TLS certificate is available on demand. EthDNS and EthLink are essential tools for accessing ENS information through DNS and integrating it with the distributed web. Users can manage content hashes and DNS information through libraries, CLI tools, and the ENS Manager at https://manager.ens.domains/.
