Bellscoin (BEL) is an original meme coin developed in 2013 by @BillyM2K, just eight days before DogeCoin was released into the world. It is a fully decentralized cryptocurrency powered by proof of work with no pre-mined coins. Bellscoin aims to restore its forgotten honor as the oldest meme coin in the world.
Bellscoin operates on a tokenomics system with an unlimited maximum supply and a block time of 60 seconds. Difficulty re-adjustment occurs every four hours. The coin has different epochs, each bringing changes to the block rewards. The emission rate for Bellscoin after Epoch 5 is 2 BEL per 1 block, resulting in a daily emission of 2,880 BEL.
While Bellscoin has no formal team or roadmap, it is a meme coin created for entertainment only and has no intrinsic value or expectation of financial return. It pays homage to the beloved “Animal Crossing” meme but has no association with the game by Nintendo. Donations are welcomed to support the maintenance of the website.
