Ethereum Movie Venture (EMV) is a blockchain-based movie platform that aims to merge technology and entertainment. The project’s first movie is the world’s first Ethereum-funded film financed through a ticket presale. These tickets are represented by Ethereum ERC-20 certified tokens called Ethereum Movie Venture Tokens. Users can acquire these tokens on Ethereum exchanges or purchase early bird movie tickets, with each ticket equivalent to 5 Ethereum Movie Venture Tokens.

The Ethereum Movie Venture Token is an ERC-20-certified Ethereum token live on the Ethereum Blockchain. Notably, these tokens, representing movie tickets, are tradable on exchanges. In addition, the platform utilizes blockchain ticketing, allowing mainstream consumers to pay for the streaming version of the movie using their Ethereum Wallet. The movie had its world premiere at Laemmle’s Theater 14 in Hollywood during the KAPOW film festival on November 14th, 2017.

Ethereum Movie Venture also boasts several upcoming premieres and notable achievements. The German premiere is set to take place during the Tete-A-Tete open-air arts festival in Rastatt. In contrast, the European premiere is scheduled for the Belfast Film Festival at the Queensfilmtheater on April 14th. The movie has also been selected for the official lineup of the International New York Film Festival in 2018. It is important to note that the acronym “EMV” will no longer be used to refer to Ethereum Movie Venture to avoid confusion, as it is already protected by a third party according to trademark law.
