Gearbox (GEAR)

Gearbox is a composable leverage protocol and DeFi-native prime brokerage. It offers two-sided lending services, connecting users who seek passive safe APY with leverage degens skilled at maximizing leverage and alpha. On the one hand, passive liquidity providers can earn passive APY rewards for the same asset without actively managing their positions. On the other side, leverage users, known as Ninjas, actively engage in top farms, manage their risks, and are highly active in decentralized finance (DeFi).

With Gearbox, liquidity providers can earn passive APY without incurring impermanent loss, lockups on their capital, or withdrawal fees. The protocol also allows users to earn more by using leverage, offering a Credit Account that acts as a leveraged wallet. Users can choose from various strategies, such as delta-neutral, cross-collateral, and more, and leverage assets like Lido stETH, Convex Frax3Crv, and Yearn stETH across DeFi platforms.

Gearbox Protocol operates under the governance of the Gearbox DAO, ensuring that all protocol operations are community-driven. The DAO is responsible for voting on parameters, new assets, and protocol fees. Gearbox is open to collaborations and encourages teams and firms to build composable leverage. The protocol is potentially composable with various DeFi and NFT protocols, offering the opportunity for integrations and grants through the Gearbox DAO.
