GM Coin (GM) is a cryptocurrency aimed at providing efficient access to information through the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) from DNS. It utilizes EthDNS, a DNS-over-HTTPS server, to resolve DNS queries and retrieve ENS-registered domains. EthDNS operates over HTTPS and can resolve traditional DNS and ENS-registered domains. The relevant information can be obtained by appending “.link” to a .eth domain. EthDNS works with IPFS to serve content based on the contenthash field in ENS, allowing users to access IPFS content seamlessly through their web browsers.
Accessing EthDNS is possible through a DNS proxy to the endpoint “https://eth.link/dns-query.” Users can set up a DNS proxy using DNSCrypt-Proxy or Cloudflare to access EthDNS through standard DNS queries. ENS-based resolution can be enabled using EthLink and CNAMEing the domain to “resolver.cloudflare-eth.com.” TLS certificates are available upon request. EthLink specifically applies to .eth domains, but other domains registered in ENS can be accessed directly when enabled.
With its integration of EthDNS and EthLink, GM Coin (GM) aims to enhance the accessibility and functionality of the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) by allowing users to access DNS information stored in ENS efficiently. By providing a seamless connection between DNS and ENS, GM Coin facilitates the retrieval of ENS-registered domains and their associated content, enabling users to access decentralized content on the Ethereum network easily.
