IPOR (IPOR)

IPOR (IPOR) is a decentralized finance (DeFi) project that offers interest rate swaps and money market benchmarks. It provides non-custodial, on-chain derivative instruments that allow users to fix their interest rates or hedge their exposure. With its liquidity pool as a contract counterparty, IPOR fixes borrowing rates using an interest rate swap. Users can quote the IPOR index to determine whether they want to pay a fixed or floating rate based on the current IPOR rate.

The system’s Automated Market Maker (AMM) determines the price of opening a contract by considering factors such as the current IPOR rate, all open contracts, historical data, and the contract size. Once the AMM presents the contract’s information, including the rate, fees, and size, users can choose to open a contract. The protocol is governed by the IPOR DAO, which allows the community to have a say in updates, index construction, product launches, and more.
