It integrates multiple proof-of-work algorithms—specifically X11, KawPoW, Equihash 200,9, and Equihash 192,7—to enhance hardware diversity and prevent any single mining entity from dominating the network. By leveraging GPU and ASIC mining, Kerrigan ensures the network remains resilient to 51% attacks while enabling different classes of miners to participate effectively. The native wallet supports shielded transactions enabled by zk-SNARK for optimum privacy, keeping all transaction data confidential between the user and the blockchain.

The architecture of Kerrigan is bolstered by its unique governance model through masternodes, which are collateralized to provide instant transaction processing and community decision-making. Each masternode operator must lock 10,000 KRGN as collateral, receiving a portion of the block rewards as passive income while actively participating in governance.
