What are Moons on Reddit?

Moons are a form of digital currency that can be earned by contributing to the r/CryptoCurrency community. You can claim your Moons in the Vault section of the Reddit iOS or Android app. As tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, these tokens represent ownership in the subreddit and can be fully controlled by you. They can be transferred, given as tips, and used within r/CryptoCurrency.

How do you get Reddit Moons?

Moons are digital tokens awarded to members of the r/CryptoCurrency community based on their contributions, such as comments and posts. The amount of Reddit karma an individual has earned is a guide for determining the distribution of Moons, but the community makes the ultimate decision. At the outset, 50 million Moons will be distributed based on karma earned to date in the subreddit. Subsequent monthly distributions will start at 5 million and decrease by 2.5% each cycle, eventually reaching a maximum cap of 250 million total distributed Moons.

What can you do with Moons?

Moons can be used in various ways within the community, such as demonstrating reputation on the subreddit or unlocking special features like badges and GIFs in comments through a Special Membership. They can also be used to increase the influence of votes in polls. These digital tokens can be traded freely.
