Contents Protocol (CPT)

The Contents Protocol (CPT) is a cryptocurrency project that collects consumer data from content platforms like WATCHA and WATCHA PLAY. The project aimed to reward platforms and users with CPT tokens for their participation, which would then be processed and sold to content providers, creating a more efficient content production ecosystem. However, the project faced challenges encouraging participation due to negative perceptions of cryptocurrency, price volatility, and complex user experiences. Additionally, difficulty securing content platforms to provide data limited the project’s ability to offer valuable insights to content producers. As a result, the team has decided to end the project and distribute their remaining assets to CPT holders.

To facilitate asset distribution, CPT holders must follow a specific procedure. This includes creating a Metamask wallet, sending CPT tokens to the wallet, and ensuring the wallet has enough ETH for gas fees. Once the CPT transfer is complete, holders must submit a compensation application form. ETH will then be distributed to the holder’s Metamask wallet within a month. It is important to follow the procedure accurately to receive the ETH and to be cautious of scams or unofficial information from other channels. The decision to end the project and distribute remaining assets comes from regulatory uncertainties in the cryptocurrency space, lack of business prospects, and a view that society’s perception and the business environment for cryptocurrency may not improve in the short term. Additionally, unclear legal and accounting guidelines on cryptocurrency create uncertain legal and accounting risks. The team expresses sincere gratitude to all those who have supported the project throughout its journey.
