Frax Finance is a groundbreaking decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol renowned for its innovative stablecoin offerings and ecosystem infrastructure. The Frax Protocol issues three distinct stablecoins: FRAX, a USD-pegged asset that is both scalable and collateralized; Frax Price Index (FPI), pegged to a basket of consumer goods to create a unique unit of account; and Frax Ether (frxETH), designed as an Ethereum-pegged stablecoin to be utilized in smart contracts. Fraxswap operates as the first automated market maker (AMM) utilizing a time-weighted average market maker (TWAMM) approach, designed for more effective execution of trades. Additionally, Fraxlend provides a permissionless and non-custodial lending platform, creating isolated lending markets with opportunities for users to lend and borrow various ERC-20 assets. At the same time, Fraxferry facilitates secure and permissionless transfers of Frax tokens across multiple blockchain networks.

The governance of the Frax ecosystem is managed through two utility tokens: Frax Share (FXS) and Frax Price Index Share (FPIS). These tokens allow holders to participate in protocol decisions and benefit from the ecosystem’s growth. The gauge rewards system encourages community involvement, enabling users to propose strategies for optimizing stablecoin usage and governance.
