AssangeDAO (JUSTICE)

AssangeDAO is a multilingual cross-border collective governed by the $JUSTICE token holders. It aims to inspire a robust solidarity network and fight for the freedom of Julian Assange. The DAO has raised millions of dollars for Assange’s legal campaign and continues to support projects that can help bring about his freedom and support causes such as Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Information, and Whistleblowing. The community is united in their mission and welcomes anyone interested in joining their chat and forum to participate in helping the DAO.

The AssangeDAO started to mobilize in a Telegram group on December 10th, 2021, after the U.S. government won its appeal for Assange’s extradition to the US. The DAO raised $55 million to bid on the NFT collaboration with Assange and renowned digital artist Pak. The auction raised funds for Assange’s legal defense, and Pak donated the dynamic NFT to support the Free Assange campaign efforts. The DAO’s governance mechanism involves the $JUSTICE token, which allows holders to vote on governance proposals via a snapshot governance page. The DAO operates with transparency and community involvement to determine the future direction and initiatives for supporting Assange’s cause.

The Justice Governance Token, abbreviated as $JUSTICE, is an Ethereum-based ERC20 token that governs the AssangeDAO. The token was issued during the Assange x Pak NFT charity auction, where contributors of ETH received $JUSTICE tokens in return. The token’s total supply is 17,346,149,507, and no additional tokens will be minted. $JUSTICE holders can participate in drafting and voting on proposals, contributing to the DAO’s decision-making process. The DAO’s governance model involves a multi-sig wallet address held by trusted individuals in the crypto space. The community discusses and reviews proposals, which are added to Snapshot for voting by $JUSTICE holders. The DAO continues to raise funds by partnering with high-profile individuals and artists on upcoming NFT auctions, directly benefiting the DAO’s treasury.
