Colony Avalanche Index (CAI)

The Colony Avalanche Index (CAI) is a community-driven accelerator for the Avalanche ecosystem. It is powered by the Colony’s CLY token, which serves as both a governance token and a means of exposure to its value flow. The vision of Colony is to reimagine outdated systems and bring the structural integrity of traditional finance to the realm of decentralized finance (DeFi), specifically within the Avalanche ecosystem.

Colony’s mission is to support early-stage funding for projects built on Avalanche, provide existing Avalanche DeFi protocols liquidity, and purchase selected Avalanche projects to form an index. The index, known as the Colony Avalanche Index (CAI), is composed of the native token AVAX and the most prominent projects within the ecosystem. Through open governance, the community can vote for capital deployment across various aspects of the Avalanche ecosystem, such as liquidity providing, early-stage investments, staking programs, and the index.

Besides its role as an ecosystem accelerator, Colony also aims to contribute to the Avalanche protocols by providing capital to increase liquidity, running nodes to secure networks, and supporting projects built on Avalanche. The team behind Colony comprises experienced professionals in finance, engineering, marketing, and software development. As the Colony evolves, it plans to implement a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) structure to empower the community further and decentralize itself.
