It operates on the principle of complete privacy, ensuring that no addresses are shared and no traceable links exist between the sender and recipient. When a user creates a drop, the platform generates a disposable burner key pair and transfers the requested assets to this temporary wallet. A unique encrypted claim code is provided, allowing recipients to access the funds without revealing their identity, making DarkDrop a secure choice for private transactions.

The process of using DarkDrop is straightforward yet secure. Users connect their wallets, specify the asset and amount, and can optionally add a password for additional encryption. The app uses client-side encryption to protect data, ensuring sensitive information such as claim strings and private keys never leaves the user’s browser. Upon claiming, recipients only need to paste or scan the claim string, and the funds can be swept to their main wallet in a single action, while the burner wallet self-destructs, erasing all transaction history.
