The Space (SPACE)

The Space, with ticker SPACE, is the world’s first NFT pixel art game governed by Radical Markets principles. Inspired by r/place, The Space provides a platform for players to own, color, and trade pixels under the Harberger Tax and Universal Basic Income (UBI) systems. Each pixel is minted as an ERC-721 token, allowing for fractional ownership.

In The Space, players can collaborate on a pixel canvas, similar to Reddit’s r/place, creating a decentralized and inclusive public space. The game operates under the principles of Harberger Tax and UBI, determining the flow of pixels and the distribution of capital to optimize the utilization of public resources. Most of the tax collected is returned to participants as a Universal Basic Income (UBI), ensuring income distribution and encouraging continued participation in the game.

The Space is governed by SpaceDAO, a self-governing community formed by all stakeholders. SpaceDAO determines important economic parameters such as the tax rate, UBI proportion, pixel canvas scale, and community fund allocation. The SPACE token, an ERC-20 token issued by The Space, serves as the medium of exchange within the game. The developer community is also rewarded through a Creator Fund for their contributions and creativity in developing third-party tools for The Space.
