About TagCoin

TagCoin (TAG) was a multi-blockchain token issued by Tagcash Ltd, a fintech company and central bank-licensed E-Money Issuer based in the Philippines. The asset was launched on the Stellar network in April 2020 under the asset code TAG, with issuer account GCISLTVXDF5W5HB53VOKQFEJOG367GKCLQNFF7YZSPFPVGFMREADOTAG. Tagcash positioned TAG as a utility token tied to its broader digital wallet ecosystem, alongside related products such as Tagbond and Tagchain.

The project was designed to span multiple chains rather than live on a single ledger. The Stellar issuance served as the primary on-chain representation, while a Scrypt-based mineable variant and an Ethereum ERC-20 version (tradable on Uniswap) extended TAG’s reach. Tagchain, an Ethereum-based sidechain built by Tagcash, was intended to use TAG as its native currency for in-app payments, rewards, and transfers within the Tagcash wallet network in Southeast Asia.

TagCoin is no longer actively maintained. On-chain activity on Stellar has remained minimal for years, with only a few dozen trustlines and trades recorded since launch. The original project website went offline in 2024, and the domain has since been taken over by an unrelated venture using the “Tag Coin” name. The Ethereum and Scrypt variants likewise show no meaningful trading activity, and the token should be treated as a historical asset rather than a live cryptocurrency.
