What is imTOKEN?

imToken is a non-custodial Web3 mobile wallet founded in 2016 by Ben He and developed by IMTOKEN PTE. LTD., headquartered in Singapore. Originally launched in Hangzhou, China, it has grown into one of the most widely used self-custody wallets in Asia, serving users across more than 150 countries.

The wallet is available on iOS (including macOS with Apple Silicon) and Android, with no browser extension or desktop client.

The companion imKey Pro hardware wallet provides air-gapped transaction signing for users who want an additional layer of protection. In 2024, imToken launched the imToken Card, a Mastercard-linked product allowing users to spend stablecoins in everyday transactions online and offline.

The company has not applied for a financial services license in Singapore and was added to the Monetary Authority of Singapore Investor Alert List in December 2023. imToken has stated it is in dialogue with MAS to clarify its decentralized business model and seek removal from the list. The wallet is not regulated and does not offer regulated financial or payment services.
