What is GateHub?

GateHub is a hosted wallet and gateway operated by GateHub Limited, a United Kingdom company active on the XRP Ledger since 2015. It provides a web wallet and a mobile app for storing XRP, issued assets (IOUs), and other XRPL tokens.

Custody: hosted. GateHub manages the underlying signing keys, so access depends on email and password authentication rather than a user-controlled seed phrase. Users who prefer self-custody can connect through Xumm or a hardware wallet and use GateHub as a gateway and trading interface.

The security model layers multiple controls:

  • Two-factor authentication enforced on sign-in and on outgoing transactions.
  • Wallet Protect plan through Coincover, insuring hosted holdings up to one million US dollars.
  • Multi-signature support for accounts requiring co-signing.
  • KYC verification required for fiat operations and above-threshold balances, in line with UK financial regulations.

GateHub also functions as a gateway issuing fiat IOUs on the XRP Ledger, with a trade interface connected to the XRPL decentralized exchange. Fiat deposits and withdrawals are supported through SEPA, SWIFT/Wire, and Stripe. In 2023 GateHub partnered with XRPL Labs to add on/off-ramp support for 14 assets including EUR, USD, BTC, ETH, and USDC, and added Xahau sidechain support. UK customers currently have deposit and exchange functions restricted to withdrawals only.

GateHub supports XRP and all issued assets on the XRP Ledger, including XRPL stablecoins, IOUs from other gateways, and Xahau assets. A mobile app for iOS and Android, launched in November 2023, extends XRPL payments, DEX trading, and portfolio tracking to mobile users.
