Nova Wallet

Nova Wallet is a self-custodial mobile wallet developed by Novasama Technologies GmbH, a company founded by former members of the Fearless Wallet team. Published as open-source software under the Apache 2.0 license, it is the leading non-custodial wallet for the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. The app runs on iOS and Android with no browser extension or desktop client. Private keys are generated and stored on the device and never transmitted externally.

Nova supports 80+ Polkadot and Kusama networks and over 100 networks in total, including Ethereum and EVM chains such as Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base. Cross-chain transfers use XCM (Cross-Consensus Messaging) natively across parachains, with over 410 XCM routes available. ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens are supported on EVM chains, and NFT collections on Polkadot Asset Hub and EVM networks appear in a built-in gallery view.

Polkadot-specific features are integrated directly: native staking for DOT, KSM, and parachain tokens such as GLMR, MOVR, and AZERO via direct nomination and nomination pools, with rewards paid by the blockchain at no commission. OpenGov governance covers referendum voting, conviction voting, and delegation. Crowdloan participation is also available. Over $300 million has been staked through Nova by more than 100,000 active users.

Additional features include a DApp browser with WalletConnect support, a swap interface aggregating DEX rates, watch-only wallet support, and hardware wallet integration via Ledger and Polkadot Vault for air-gapped signing. Phishing protection and biometric or PIN authentication are enforced for sensitive operations. The project is funded through Polkadot and Kusama Treasury proposals and the Substrate Builders Program rather than venture capital.
