What is a MiCA Licensed Exchange?

The Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) is the European Union's comprehensive framework for crypto-asset service providers (CASPs). Taking full effect in December 2024, MiCA requires exchanges operating within the EU to obtain a license from a national financial authority, maintain adequate capital reserves, publish a white paper, apply anti-money laundering (AML) controls, and meet strict standards for consumer protection and transparency.

A MiCA license is issued by a national competent authority (NCA), such as the AFM in the Netherlands, BaFin in Germany, or the AMF in France, and grants EU-wide passporting rights. This means a licensed exchange can operate across all 27 EU member states under a single authorization, provided it notifies the relevant authorities in advance.

Exchanges listed here have been verified as MiCA-licensed through official national registers, ESMA's central CASP database, or published regulatory announcements. Holding a MiCA license does not imply endorsement by Blockspot.io, and the availability of services may vary by country.
