What is Obvious?

Obvious was a self-custody wallet that brought together assets across EVM and non-EVM chains and powered cross-chain transactions by giving users safe, fast, and affordable bridging and swapping routes within the app.

Built by Obvious Technology Pvt Ltd, a startup based in India, the wallet focused on simplifying the multi-chain experience for everyday users. Rather than requiring separate wallets for each network, Obvious aggregated balances and activity across EVM-compatible chains into a single interface. The app used account abstraction (EIP-4337) to improve usability, enabling features such as gasless transactions and simplified key management on supported networks including Polygon and zkSync.

Obvious was mobile-only, available on iOS and Android. Its cross-chain routing engine searched bridging and swapping routes in real time to offer users competitive rates and low fees without leaving the app. The project launched in late 2022 and positioned itself toward users who wanted a streamlined, non-custodial experience across multiple EVM networks without the complexity typically associated with multi-chain portfolio management.

Quick facts: Founded 2022, India (Obvious Technology Pvt Ltd). Self-custody; mobile-only (iOS and Android). Supported EVM-compatible chains including Polygon and zkSync, with cross-chain bridging and swapping built in. Account abstraction (EIP-4337) used for gasless transactions on supported networks. Status: Offline.
