2key.network (2KEY) is the native ERC-20 token of the 2key referral protocol on the Ethereum blockchain, with the contract deployed at 0xe48972fcd82a274411c01834e2f031d4377fa2c0 and viewable on Etherscan. The project introduced a concept called “SmartLinks”, regular URLs wrapped in smart contracts that could automatically track how content spread, attribute referrals across multiple hops, and pay rewards in 2KEY to everyone who contributed to a click that converted. The protocol pitched itself as an alternative to closed pay-per-click ad platforms by making the entire reward flow visible on-chain. 2KEY served as the unit of account inside that system, used to fund campaigns, pay referrers, and meter network usage.

Each SmartLink generated by 2key.network produced a live referral map showing how a link travelled through social and messaging networks, including which addresses or social accounts contributed engagement at each hop. Layered analytics were designed to filter invalid clicks, surface high-influence sharers, and split rewards across the referral chain proportionally. Advertisers funded campaigns directly in 2KEY, and the smart contracts handled escrow, fraud filtering, and payout settlement without manual intervention. The platform extended to dashboards and product pages aimed at brands and creators, with SDK-style integrations meant to slot SmartLinks into existing acquisition funnels.

2KEY launched with a fixed supply of 600 million tokens, of which roughly 128 million are reported in circulation; no new minting is possible at the contract level. As of the time of writing, active product development on 2key.network has been paused: the official site at 2key.network presents the platform in the past tense and invites visitors to subscribe to be notified “when 2key returns”, and the team has not announced a hard relaunch date. Market activity for 2KEY has correspondingly thinned to a handful of dollars in daily volume across the few remaining Ethereum DEX pools that quote the token, and most external dashboards no longer track its price.
