About EtheRunes

EtheRunes (ETR) was a token project built on the Ethereum blockchain with the goal of connecting the Ethereum and Bitcoin ecosystems. Operating under the brand etherunes.io, it aimed to integrate the ERC-20 standard with Bitcoin’s Runes protocol, a system for embedding fungible token data directly in Bitcoin transactions. The project positioned itself as a cross-chain interoperability platform for users wanting to operate across both networks simultaneously.

The platform offered tools for minting, managing, and transferring digital assets across Ethereum and Bitcoin, relying on Ethereum smart contracts on one side and the Runes protocol on the other. ETR tokens carried a 5% buy/sell tax on transactions. The total supply was fixed at 100,000,000 ETR, allocated as follows: 70% for liquidity, 15% for a planned Bridge to Runes integration, 7% for partnerships, and 8% reserved for the team. The project also offered a transaction explorer for tracking Runes protocol activity in real time.

EtheRunes went offline in May 2025 when the etherunes.io website became unreachable. The ERC-20 contract (0xdF21D69bce43F819cb92B8c23e2a001F91157653) remains deployed on Ethereum and historical transaction data is accessible via Etherscan. As of 2025, the project appears to have been abandoned with no further public communication from the team. ETR tokens may still trade on decentralized exchanges but the project infrastructure is no longer operational.
