Internet of Energy Network (IOEN)

The Internet of Energy Network (IOEN), represented by the ticker IOEN, is a community-driven network promoting clean energy worldwide. At the core of IOEN is an intelligent open-source protocol encompassing distributed accounting, transactions, and applications for facilitating the transition to clean energy. Developed in partnership with Holochain, IOEN utilizes a unique agent-based architecture that allows seamless integration with various energy devices and users. This groundbreaking technology enables IOEN to offer a dual-layered solution for scalable, private, and secure energy transactions, making it ideal for community and local energy system coordination while still supporting global value transfer through the IOEN Token.

A key initiative of IOEN is Project 100, which aims to connect 100 Clean Energy Communities. To track the progress of this project, IOEN World has been created as a virtual clone of the physical world. IOEN World serves as the Metaverse for Energy Projects linked to the IOEN ecosystem, providing a platform for community energy providers, designers, operators, and collaborators to demonstrate real-life implementations, test scenarios, collaborate with others, and observe the energy transition in real time.

IOEN adopts a unique approach in its functioning. Energy devices and users are added as Agents within the protocol and interact via a customized implementation of the Holochain Protocol. By leveraging Holochain’s agent-centric architecture, each device and user can establish and manage its private relationships, transactions, and interactions. This architecture offers significant scalability, performance, and agility advantages compared to traditional global blockchain or server-based solutions. Within local energy systems, transactions are denominated in IOENFuel accounting, which employs a mutual credit solution for value transfer. Additionally, users can engage in IOENToken transactions to facilitate global value transfer and Grid-to-Grid collaboration.
