Liquity (LQTY)

Liquity (LQTY) is a decentralized borrowing protocol built on the Ethereum blockchain. It offers interest-free loans against Ether used as collateral, allowing users to leverage their assets without incurring variable interest rates. Loans are disbursed in LUSD, a stablecoin pegged to the USD, and borrowers need to maintain a minimum collateral ratio of only 110%. The protocol ensures the security of loans through a Stability Pool containing LUSD and the collective support of fellow borrowers acting as guarantors of last resort.

Liquity is a non-custodial, immutable, and governance-free protocol, giving users full control over their assets. To access Liquity, users can choose from various third-party web interfaces. The protocol itself does not operate a frontend. With Liquity, borrowers can benefit from several key advantages, including a 0% interest rate, a collateral ratio of only 110%, algorithmic and automated operations, and the ability to redeem LUSD at face value using the underlying collateral at any time. Moreover, the protocol is designed to be censorship-resistant, giving users complete control over their financial transactions.

Liquity also offers opportunities for users to earn revenue through the protocol. One way is by depositing LUSD into the Stability Pool, which allows users to earn liquidation gains and rewards in LQTY tokens. Additionally, users can stake their LQTY tokens to earn revenue from issuance fees (in LUSD) and redemption fees (in ETH). Through these mechanisms, Liquity provides a platform for borrowers and liquidity providers to participate in a decentralized and transparent financial ecosystem on the Ethereum blockchain.
