Multi-Chain Capital (MCC)

Multi-Chain Capital (MCC) is a coin that operates within the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) ecosystem and provides access to information through EthDNS. EthDNS is a DNS-over-HTTPS server that resolves regular DNS and ENS-registered domains. It allows users to access DNS information held in ENS in the same way as traditional DNS. EthDNS operates by appending ‘.link’ to an ‘.eth’ domain to make it accessible from DNS. It uses the HTTPS protocol to perform DNS resolution, and its endpoint is ‘https://eth.link/dns-query’.

EthLink, on the other hand, is specifically designed for ‘.eth’ domains. Since ‘.eth’ is not a registered DNS top-level domain, it is normally inaccessible from DNS. However, by appending ‘.link’ to a ‘.eth’ domain, EthLink enables users to access relevant information from ENS. For example, a DNS A record request for ‘mydomain.eth.link’ would look up the A records in ENS for ‘mydomain.eth’. EthLink works hand in hand with EthDNS to provide seamless access to ENS information for ‘.eth’ domains.

One of the core features of ENS is the contenthash field, which contains a pointer to content somewhere on the internet, often in IPFS. When EthDNS is asked to serve a domain with a contenthash, it performs specific operations. If the domain does not have an A record, EthDNS will return the IPFS gateway A record when asked for an A record. When asked for TXT records, the contenthash will return both as its field and as a DNSLink reference. This enables users to access IPFS content based on the information within ENS without requiring any additional changes to their system.
