Wrapped Dogecoin (WDOGE)

Wrapped Dogecoin (wDoge) is an Ethereum ERC20 Token representing Dogecoins in the Ethereum blockchain. It serves as a bridge between Dogecoin and Ethereum, allowing for a 1:1 conversion. wDoge is governed by a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) composed of prominent companies and organizations in the Dogecoin and Ethereum ecosystems, such as BitGo, BluePepper, The Dogecoin Foundation, and MyDoge.

The mission of wDoge is to bring the power of Smart Contracts/Web3 to Dogecoin and strengthen its ecosystem. By leveraging Ethereum’s smart contracts, wDoge opens up a world of possibilities for Dogecoin users. It enables the transfer of wDoge tokens to other blockchains and allows users to access the Web3/DeFi/NFT ecosystem. Users can earn interest by lending their wDoges on DeFi projects, use wDoge as collateral for loans, and buy and sell NFTs using wDoges as payment.

To mint 1 wDoge in the Ethereum blockchain, 1 Dogecoin must be locked in the Dogecoin blockchain. Conversely, to unlock 1 Dogecoin in the Dogecoin blockchain, 1 wDoge must be burned in the Ethereum blockchain. This ensures a 1:1 conversion and maintains the value equivalence between wDoge and Dogecoin.
