Blockstream Green

Blockstream Green is a self-custody Bitcoin wallet developed by Blockstream Corporation. It covers the full Bitcoin stack in a single application: on-chain Bitcoin transactions, Lightning Network payments, and Liquid Network assets. The wallet is available on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is fully open-source.

Green supports two signing configurations. In singlesig mode, users hold a single private key from a standard BIP-39 seed phrase. In 2-of-2 multisig mode, one key is held by the user and a second by Blockstream’s co-signing server, which enforces two-factor authentication via email, SMS, authenticator app, or phone call. A timelocked recovery path lets users reclaim full access without the server after a set period, removing any long-term custodial dependency.

Green integrates natively with the Blockstream Jade hardware wallet, keeping signing keys on an air-gapped device while the app manages transactions. The app also supports connecting to a personal Bitcoin node and routing traffic through Tor for privacy.

Additional features include a built-in Bitcoin purchase flow, a UTXO calculator for monitoring consolidation costs, support for 15+ languages, and no mandatory account registration or identity verification. Liquid Network support enables confidential transactions and faster settlement alongside standard Bitcoin operations.

Blockstream Green supports Bitcoin (BTC) on-chain, Lightning Network payments, and assets issued on the Liquid Network sidechain.
