What is HASHWallet?

HASHWallet is a hardware wallet in payment card format, developed by eSignus Security Solutions S.L., a cybersecurity company based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. The device stores private keys offline inside an EAL6+-certified chip and communicates with a companion app via NFC, requiring no battery. Because all transaction signing happens inside the chip, private keys are never exposed to the connected device.

The firmware is intentionally non-updatable, removing a common attack surface found in conventional hardware wallets. A card-loss scenario does not automatically compromise funds: accessing the wallet requires both the physical card and an app-based passphrase. The recovery model is decentralized and requires no KYC: users receive a Recovery Seed and a separate Recovery Key, neither of which is stored on eSignus servers. An optional Backup Card and a secure inheritance feature allow keys to be passed on without exposing them prematurely.

The HASHWallet app, available for iOS 11+ and Android 4+ on devices with NFC, supports over 11,000 cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Avalanche, Dogecoin, and a broad range of ERC-20 and other tokens. In late 2024, eSignus launched the HASHWallet Link, a second smartcard model, and added Simplex integration allowing users to buy crypto directly inside the app via credit or debit card. The hardware wallet retails at around 149 euros with worldwide delivery.

eSignus has received national cybersecurity recognition in Spain and has partnered with CardLab for hardware manufacturing. The company has remained active through 2025, participating in startup events and forming distribution partnerships across Europe.
