It is completely Community Driven, meaning it has no owners or CEO. BitcoinZ implements the Proof of Work approach (it is minable like Bitcoin) and is ideologically based on a noble cause, aiming to offer worldwide free transactions with virtually zero cost for all.

However, BitcoinZ has its own genesis block. It is not a Bitcoin fork and is not an airdropped coin to Bitcoin (or any other coin) owners.

BITCOINZ had a transparent and fair launch with:

NO premining (no coins allocated to any address before the source code release).
NO instamining (not initially minable only by a closed group with superior rewards).
NO ICO sales (no special priced presold coins for making money).
NO Developers Fee (developers have worked voluntarily, and every decision is taken by all Community members).

BitcoinZ technically utilizes the ZCash core, offering privacy features (something Bitcoin does not) with Zk-snarks cryptography and achieving considerably faster transaction speeds.

Additionally, the coin has been designed with a bigger maximum supply of 21 billion coins, making prices easier to handle without long decimal numbers.

The reduction of block rewards for BitcoinZ follows a similar plan to Bitcoin’s (every 4 years), maintaining a fair approach to reward both current and future miners. This contrasts with many new cryptocurrencies that employ speculative plans to give huge rewards only to their initial miners by halving rewards quickly.

Furthermore, BitcoinZ utilizes algorithms that maximize ASIC resistance. It pioneered the ZHASH mining algorithm, an Equihash variation that resisted the ASIC Miners wave and was widely adopted by many projects.

This approach ensures BitcoinZ always protects its mining community and maximizes decentralization, making the coin minable even with a typical PC and a low-end GPU.

In BTCZ’s roadmap, almost nothing is static. Community members can vote to change priorities or add new targets, which are funded by the Community Fund (VaultZ).
