About Bitgem
Bitgem (XBTG) is one of the pioneering cryptocurrencies, established in May 2013. With a limited supply of approximately 30,000 coins, Bitgem stands out from many other coins that are mere clones. It was designed to serve an additional purpose by offering a unique feature in its wallet. The Bitgem wallet can generate four different types of trading gems, namely Diamonds, Rubies, Sapphires, and Emeralds.
The BTG wallet allows users to create colored gems of various characteristics and qualities. These gems can be easily created within the wallet and sent to other BTG users. Gem creation involves making specific gems with carat, color, clarity, cut, and shape properties. Bitgeminization, on the other hand, involves converting incoming BTG transactions into existing gems. Development efforts are focused on providing a native method for sending colored gems, thereby enhancing the functionality of the BitGem Wallet.
Looking towards the future, BitGem aims to introduce several mainlines of development, including transaction granularity, tagged coins, and colored coins. Transaction granularity will allow for trading whole gems instead of fractional amounts, potentially offering additional rewards for holding larger gems. Tagged coins will enable users to store gem properties within the blockchain. In contrast, colored coins will provide true colored coins (diamond, ruby, sapphire, and emerald) that can be automatically exchanged in a secondary market. BitGem Wallet is continuously evolving, and users are encouraged to contribute to the project and take advantage of future developments.
