Ultima (ULTIMA)

Ultima (ULTIMA) is the native infrastructure token of the Ultima ecosystem, a Layer 1 “Smart Blockchain” built for everyday digital payments and decentralized finance. The network runs on a Delegated Proof of Stake consensus mechanism, targeting throughput of roughly 2,000 transactions per second with new blocks produced every three seconds, aiming to keep fees low while supporting high transaction volume.

The project was conceived in Switzerland in 2016 and launched its mainnet and token in 2023, since growing a community spanning more than a hundred countries. Rather than being a single-purpose asset, ULTIMA functions as the settlement currency across a broader suite of consumer-facing products, including a self-custody SMART Wallet, an Ultima debit card accepted for everyday purchases and cash withdrawals, the DeFi-U staking program that rewards users for locking assets in liquidity pools, and marketplace platforms such as Ultima Store and Umarkt for buying goods and services with crypto.

ULTIMA has a fixed maximum supply of 100,000 tokens, with daily emissions reduced through periodic halving events, giving the asset a deflationary issuance schedule. As the ecosystem’s core token, ULTIMA is used to pay for transactions, access staking rewards, and settle purchases across the various platforms the project has built around it.
