Wemix Token (WEMIX)

Wemix Token (WEMIX) is the native cryptocurrency of the WEMIX blockchain ecosystem, developed by Wemade, a South Korean video game company. WEMIX was created to bridge traditional gaming with blockchain technology, giving game studios and players a shared infrastructure for in-game assets, rewards, and decentralized applications. The current mainnet, WEMIX3.0, is an Ethereum Virtual Machine compatible, open source protocol that supports Solidity smart contracts, allowing developers to build and port applications using familiar Ethereum tooling.

The network runs on a Stake based Proof of Authority consensus mechanism, in which a set of approved validator organizations, known as Node Council Partners, stake WEMIX and take turns proposing blocks using a Raft based leader selection process. This design prioritizes transaction throughput and predictable finality for game and DeFi applications over the fully permissionless validator sets used by some other chains. The broader ecosystem includes the non-custodial WEMIX Wallet, the WEMIX PLAY gaming platform (home to titles such as MIR4), and an NFT marketplace for trading in-game items.

Within this ecosystem, the WEMIX token functions as the primary medium of exchange, the asset staked by node operators to secure the network, and the unit used to pay transaction fees. It also serves as a reward currency across supported games and applications, so that as more titles and services integrate with WEMIX3.0, transactional demand for the token is intended to grow alongside the platform’s user base.
