About ZillionCoin

ZillionCoin (ZLN) was a proof-of-work cryptocurrency launched on 14 August 2017. Built on its own blockchain, it used a custom mining algorithm called ZillionFLUX, which allowed CPU mining directly from within the desktop wallet, a design choice intended to lower the barrier to participation for ordinary users. The total supply was fixed at 220 million ZLN, with a block time of 60 seconds and a block reward of approximately 66.67 ZLN that halved every four years.

The project developed two supporting systems alongside its core chain. ZillionGrid was a distributed P2P database layer designed to handle high transaction volumes by pairing the blockchain with an off-chain database network. ZillionNodes were lightweight nodes intended to accelerate transaction finality and support storage of multiple data formats, including media files. Wallets were released for Windows, Linux, and macOS, and the source code was made publicly available. The project was also associated with a ZillionGrid whitepaper outlining plans for a hybrid blockchain infrastructure.

ZillionCoin is no longer active. The official website went offline, trading on the exchanges that once listed it ceased, and no development activity has been recorded since 2023. The coin blockchain explorer still shows historical chain data. ZLN serves today as an archived reference for researchers studying early proof-of-work projects that combined on-chain consensus with distributed database concepts.
