What is Hodly?
Hodly was a custodial cryptocurrency wallet and exchange app launched in 2018 by the Yatsenko Group, the company behind the online trading broker IQ Option. Operating under the Iqoption Ireland Limited entity, it gave users a mobile and web-based interface to buy, sell, send, and receive a small selection of major digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Litecoin. Accounts could be funded with debit or credit cards through the IQ Option payment infrastructure, and balances were held in custody on the user’s behalf rather than in self-custody keys controlled by the user.
The service was positioned as a simpler on-ramp for retail traders already familiar with the IQ Option brand. It offered iOS and Android apps alongside a browser-based account interface, with basic portfolio tracking and transaction history. Because Hodly was fully custodial, users did not control their own private keys, and the platform applied standard KYC and verification requirements before allowing fiat-to-crypto conversions or withdrawals to external addresses.
Hodly was shut down in 2019, roughly one year after launch, as part of IQ Option’s retreat from standalone cryptocurrency products. The hodly.com domain subsequently went defunct and has not hosted an operational service since. The associated iOS and Android applications were removed from their respective stores, and the official social accounts ceased activity. This page is preserved for historical reference only; the brand is no longer operational.
