Non-custodial hardware wallet for Windows, Mac and Linux
End of life: This product is no longer in active production. The manufacturer remains active with newer models.
Trezor Model T is a hardware wallet developed by SatoshiLabs, the Prague-based company that built the original Trezor. Launched in 2018 as a higher-tier successor to the Trezor One, it introduced a 1.54-inch color touchscreen for PIN and passphrase entry directly on the device, USB-C connectivity, and a microSD card slot for encrypted backups. The Model T is no longer sold as a new device, with the Trezor Safe 5 now occupying its place in the lineup, but SatoshiLabs has committed to software updates through 2031 and critical security patches through 2036.
Custody: self-custody. Private keys are generated and stored on the device and never transmitted to any server. The open-source firmware is publicly auditable. A distinguishing security feature is native support for SLIP39, also known as Shamir Backup, which allows the recovery seed to be split into multiple shares so that no single share alone can restore the wallet. Standard 12-, 20-, and 24-word BIP39 seeds are also supported. The Trezor Suite desktop and web app handles portfolio management, coin swaps, and staking for supported assets.
Supported networks:
The combined library covers over 9,000 coins and tokens accessible through Trezor Suite and compatible third-party wallets. The Model T does not include a dedicated hardware Secure Element chip, which is a difference compared to the newer Safe series.
