Shutter (SHU)

Shutter (SHU) is an open-source project that aims to address the issue of front-running and malicious MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) on the Ethereum network. It utilizes a threshold cryptography-based distributed key generation (DKG) protocol to prevent exploitation and ensure fair transactions. By protecting users from information asymmetries and implementing a distributed key generation mechanism, Shutter strives to maintain fair markets and censorship resistance on Ethereum and Layer 2 solutions such as rollups and sidechains. With its gas-efficient and non-protocol-changing solution, Shutter aims to create a secure environment for Ethereum users.

At the core of Shutter’s vision is its decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), which plays a crucial role in the system’s functioning. The DAO incorporates the Keyper Set Selection Process and Set Management, promoting community participation and ownership. The project fosters a sense of commitment and ownership among its members by actively involving the Shutter Network community in shaping the DAO. Shutter’s DAO is essential for the project’s success and ensures that its community’s collective aspirations and needs are represented.

Shutter is building partnerships and integrating various platforms to enhance its capabilities. It collaborates with Rollup as a Service, Gelato, Zeeve Web3 Platform, and other infrastructure providers to offer a comprehensive solution and support the deployment of rollups. The project also emphasizes the importance of base layer neutrality and accessibility, aligning with the values of Gnosis Chain and Ethereum. Additionally, Shutter has developed Shutter Governance and collaborates with platforms like Snapshot to introduce shielded voting, addressing misbehavior and voter apathy issues. These partnerships and collaborations demonstrate Shutter’s commitment to creating a secure, fair, and user-centric ecosystem.
