Eidoo

Eidoo was a Swiss cryptocurrency wallet and financial platform launched in 2017 by Eidoo SA, headquartered in Lugano, Switzerland. The application offered self-custody storage for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and ERC-20 tokens, with private keys held locally on the user’s device. It was available on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Beyond basic storage, Eidoo bundled several services into one interface: a built-in decentralized exchange for token swaps, an ICO Engine for participating in token sales directly from the app, a Visa debit card for spending crypto at point-of-sale terminals, and DeFi integrations added in later versions. The platform also supported connectivity with Ledger and Trezor hardware wallets. Eidoo’s native utility token, EDO, provided holders with reduced fees, governance voting rights, and access to premium features.

In June 2020, Eidoo underwent a major structural change. The company merged with sister firm Provable Things under the Poseidon Group umbrella to form pNetwork, a cross-chain bridging protocol. As part of that transition, the EDO token was retired and migrated at a 1:1 ratio to the new PNT (pNetwork Token). Eidoo also burned approximately 28 million EDO tokens prior to the migration to support decentralized governance in the new network.

Following the pNetwork formation, the Eidoo brand gradually wound down. Active development and support for the wallet ceased, and the eidoo.io domain expired in 2025. Users who still held assets in the Eidoo wallet were advised to recover them using their seed phrase in any compatible Ethereum or Bitcoin wallet. Eidoo is a discontinued project and is no longer available.
