What is Fetch?
Fetch was a self-custody cryptocurrency wallet and trading application developed by Senet Labs, Inc, positioned as a “Blockchain Companion” for users who wanted to buy, sell, and manage digital assets from a desktop interface. The project launched in 2018 and was built around making on-chain Ethereum transactions accessible to everyday users through a streamlined, non-technical interface.
The wallet was non-custodial: users held their own private keys and retained full control over their funds at all times. Fetch supported Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens, offering access to 188 ETH markets across more than 20 exchanges at its peak. It integrated the 0x decentralized exchange protocol, enabling token swaps directly within the app without requiring users to interact with a centralized trading platform.
Fetch was available as a desktop application for Windows and macOS, and an Android version was offered via the Google Play Store. No iOS or browser extension release was documented. The app included a built-in coin converter to help users compare asset values, and its architecture was centered on providing a one-click experience for blockchain interactions without exposing users to raw transaction details.
The founders included Dan Melton and Hansmeet Sethi. In March 2020, Dan Melton published a post titled “Closing Down,” announcing the end of the Fetch project. The fetchtrading.com domain remained accessible for several years afterward before going offline in October 2024. Supported assets were limited to Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens; multi-chain support beyond the Ethereum ecosystem was not documented in available sources.
