What is youves?
youves is a decentralised finance (DeFi) protocol on the Tezos blockchain that allows users to create and manage synthetic assets. It operates as a non-custodial, self-governed platform, meaning users retain control of their funds and the protocol is directed by its own community through a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO).
The platform was developed by ubinetic, a Swiss company based in Zug, and launched on Tezos in 2021. youves enables users to lock crypto collateral in vaults to mint algorithmic synthetic tokens: uUSD (pegged to the US dollar), uBTC (pegged to Bitcoin), and uXTZ (pegged to the Tezos native token XTZ). Users can also earn yield through liquidity provision and swap correlated asset pairs at low cost. Price data for the protocol is supplied by ubinetic’s own on-chain oracle service.
Governance is managed through the YOU token, which is distributed to minters, liquidity providers, and the founding team, with no pre-mint at launch. YOU holders vote on protocol changes, and the token can be staked to earn rewards. Synthetic tokens issued by youves are traded on Tezos-based decentralised exchanges.
