The business was established after Fidelity Investments spent more than ten years researching Bitcoin and blockchain technology, and it launched client services in 2019.

Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, with additional offices in London and Dublin, Fidelity Digital Assets serves institutional investors such as hedge funds, family offices, and registered investment advisors. Its custody platform offers secure cold-storage with physical, cyber, and operational controls, while its execution service provides multi-venue liquidity from a single account without requiring assets to leave cold storage.

The company also offers integrated solutions including collateral accounts and Fidelity Crypto for wealth managers, and has introduced the Fidelity Digital Dollar (FIDD), a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin. Through its parent company’s broader retail platform, Fidelity Crypto, individual investors in the United States can also access digital asset trading.
